Please make sure you title is relevant to the specific question you are asking. These are the softest recoiling AK’s that I've ever shot.Remember, if you post a picture, make sure to provides some context. I also have reduced power springs (-10%) and KNS pistons. 30 cal cap while also maintaining a decent clearance and not introducing much more back pressure. ![]() My thinking here was I would be able to quiet the can down more than the. )ġ30.1I’m running a similiar setup on my 104UR and 106CR, but I decided on using. We have a lot of personal weapons we use in the company because we really bootstrapped the company. I think that's the main reason we don't fiddle much. I recommend if you do that, be super careful of transitioning the can to another rifle shooting 7.62. If you do it with the adjustable block it's a net gain, though. Yeah, you can get a reduction at muzzle (typically 2-4 dB) but it's at the expense of extra backpressure. It's one of those things where it needs to be done right. I was just thinking about how none of us at Dead Air (that I know of) run a 556 front cap. Wondering if yall tested the wolverine with a smaller front cap for 545 & 556 and seen any change in DB numbers? It's funny you ask that. If I run 556 and want a smaller aperture then that's what I grab. A safer way to go is to use our 6.5mm cap. I planned for some runout in it, but it's still kind of tight. Remember that that's an accessory cap so it's not EDM'd to the bore. The 556 front cap is pretty tight for that application unless everything is machined and aligned perfectly. )įor a dedicated can on a rifle, it would work very well. But then again why on earth would you use this ammo with no silencer? The only downside would be that it probably would not cycle most guns unsuppressed. It would also have the nice side-effect of getting rid of overgassing issues. My advice to the manufacturer would be to reduce the powder charge a bit, to eliminate the possibility of going super. In fact you'll probably be overgassed.īut sadly, I cannot recommend this product for full size rifles. I can guarantee you that this will cycle any rifle provided you have a suppressor attached. They're fairly competitive with 300 BLK offerings, accuracy was good too. However, with no KNS piston it was overgassed, so the action was quite loud. What a difference! There was no crack or booming echo bouncing off of the trees. Out of this rifle, it was definitely subsonic. 8.5" barrel, 2" blast chamber, 10 titanium radial cones. Next up, I tried my SBR'd SLR-107UR with my form 1 suppressor. 700 feet above sea level, roughly 65 degrees Fahrenheit. ![]() I tried it with the gas OFF (100% bleed: action stays locked) and it was still loud. It was loud, and not because of the AK's action. I own several 300 blk rifles and other suppressed rifles, so I definitely know the sound difference. I also tried an NPAP with similar results. Sadly, the rounds were quite clearly SUPERSONIC out of this rifle. It cycled perfectly, I even gave the piston a few clicks to reduce the gas. I ordered 5 boxes of the stuff from kvar as soon as it was announced.Įxcitedly, I loaded a mag of the stuff into my 16" FM-AK-11 VEPR, equipped with a liberty Mystic-X. I personally am extremely disappointed with the brown bear subsonic.
